I would like to thank you for developing this website.  It feels good to be
reconnected with my roots. I'm third generation Argiris so my connection with
Axladokambos was rather distant and likewise as our family here got bigger, so
did the gap in our communication.  The internet has been very helpful in getting
in touch with my distant cousins, who are my age.  I hope to get in touch with

My grandfather was john floutsis from ahladokampos argos, greece.  He was born
august 17 1871.  he emmigrated to canada in the late 1800's as a young man and
went to alaska during the gold rush of 1898.  he later settled in prince rupert
british columbia and later in victoria.  he died in 1969.  I will be in greece
in two weeks and will visit the village of ahladokampos argos and would like to

Hi poeple!! I just found this web site and i decide to write... Im the daugther
of Jennie Papantoniou(Jennie is Notas Papantoniou daughter). I think that
everybody remembers Grigoraki. I have heard many names that appear to tis
page...but unfortunately i cannot recall how everyone looks like. Im sure many
of you know Theio Jimmy who lives in Chicago(Jennie's brother). I hope to see
you in Greece...in Axladokabos.... I suggest to bring your children when you
come to "xorio" cause the bonds should continue to be strong and between the
young people. but in order for this to happen...we(the new generation) should
meet and have keep in touch with each other. I have heard so many things from my
grandmother and my mother that i feel its too bad not to keep in touch ...

This site is very important to me.  My family left the xorio at the beginning of
the 20th century during the first massive immigration to the United States.  I
returned to the xorio in 1997 for a visit.  My family is very big and everyday
it seems that I run into a new Argiris. . . the xorio is the one thing that
unites us.

Where can I begin by saying how proud I am of being an AXLADOKAMBITES. Just
seeing how successful our "XORIO" is not only in Greece, but how the Brotherhood
carries on the tradition makes me extremely proud to tell people I'm from
Axladokambos. I'd like to thank first off the brotherhood for allowing me to
continue on my education to college. Secondly, I'd like to thank my parents for
raising me in an all greek home. I can't begin to express my love and happiness

I am interested in finding out if a man by the last name of Mbonoris(spelling
may not be correct)who came to America in the 1920's from a village in
Peloponesse and lived in Little Rock Arkansas was from Ahladokambos. We only
know that his mother died when he was very young and his dad
re-married. He left his home when he was in his early teens and came to America.
He owned restaurants in Little Rock, his wife died from cancer at a younger age
and he had at least two daughters. This is limited information, but I thought
someone might know.

My heartfelt congratulations to all who produced the commemorative book. It was
a prodigious and telling effort that gave us all a deep appreciation of our
historical roots. Especially gripping were the decriptions of the German
occupation during WWll and the civil war that followed. It's a book that will

Axladokambos over a 100 years ago. Two brother lived in Chicago and my
grandfather ended up in Oregon.

Congratulations on the 100th year and to another 100. In 1992 we were in
Achladokambos to celebrate the 100th year of the building of the Paravantis
house. Our Mother is Nota Treantafelles, she was a Paravantis.  She is now 97
years old and in failing health. Our father was Theodre G. Treantafelles.
I cannot adequately express how proud we are of our relatives and our xorio.

I am glad to see this wonderful site, and all the great things that it has to

What a great website and a nice surprise to hear from people from all over USA from the Village. Achladokambos should be very proud of her sons and daughters. There are 3 Bonorris brothers here in California from the village, George, Gus "Kostas", and Bill "Vasilli". One brother is still living in the village Panayioti "Takn" and his wife Mimeka. One brother Niko in Tripolis. We have had the pleasure to visit Greece many times and love it! I was surprised none of the Triantifilis family is involved. My husbands mother was Constantina Triantifilis (who passed away during the war when he was four years old). I would like to get more history of the village, it is so interesting. I hope we can attend your next reunion. You should be very proud to have set up this great web site. The pictures of the village are terrific.

I am a first generation Greek living is San Diego. My mother, Voula Parashos, was born in Axladokambos and lived there with her sister, three brothers and her parents. I am sure many children with parents from the Axladokambos have heard countless war stories about the village. Growing up I thought these stories were exageratted until I went to visit for myself. I realized that my mom was telling the truth. My visit allowed me to fully appreciate my family history. I am happy to have found this website that is keeping the spirit of the town alive.

Hi to the Axladokambos blood around the world. 100 years ago it would have been difficult for people to get in touch with people in the next village like "Partheni" "Eleoxopi" or "Andritsa" which is very remote and beautiful. With todays technogogies, we are only physically apart but are technologically together. Congratulations on a wonderful web site and for updating it. My grandfather Panagiotis Konstantinou Stergios would always jokingly say, "man with technology had conquered all boundaries exept 'Haros'(Grim Reaperof death).
